Latest updates from the gaming world

City of Heroes officially shut down in 2012, and that was supposed to be the end. But here we are in 2026, and the game has more active players than some live-service titles. Homecoming made that happen. ## The Homecoming Story For years after the shutdown, fans thought CoH was gone forever. Then in 2019, a private server went public, the community exploded, and suddenly the game was back. What makes Homecoming special isn't just that it exists. The team has been actively developing new content, quality-of-life improvements, and balance changes. This isn't a museum piece. It's a living game with regular updates. ## Why People Still Play City of Heroes did character creation different. The costume system is still unmatched in the genre. You can spend hours designing your hero before you even pick a power set. And with dozens of archetypes and hundreds of power combinations, no two characters play the same. The gameplay loop hits different too. You're not grinding the same raid for months. You're running missions, taking down villain groups, and actually feeling like a superhero. The sidekick system means you can team up with anyone regardless of level. ## Getting Started Homecoming runs multiple shards to handle the population: - Excelsior - Highest population, best for finding teams - Torchbearer - Second most active - Everlasting - Unofficial RP server - Indomitable - PvP focused - Reunion - EU-friendly timezone Download is free, no subscription, no cash shop. The team runs entirely on community donations. ## Is It Worth Playing in 2026? If you never played CoH, you're in for a treat. The graphics are dated, but the gameplay holds up. And if you're a veteran who lost your characters back in 2012, the nostalgia hit is real. The community is genuinely helpful. Global chat is active, people run newbie-friendly task forces, and there's none of the toxicity you might expect. Check out the City of Heroes page for more info, or jump straight to Homecoming to get started.

World of Warcraft: Midnight is almost here, and Season 1 kicks off March 17. Two weeks after the expansion drops, the real grind begins. ## Player Housing Finally Arrives After years of requests, player housing is officially here. You'll unlock your homestead early in the Midnight campaign and can build it out over time with furniture, trophies, and cosmetic upgrades. The cool part: housing ties into Season 1 progression. Completing M+ keys, raid bosses, and PvP milestones unlocks exclusive decorations and displays for your home. There's even a visitor system where friends can check out your place. Expect the housing grind to be real. Rare drops, reputation unlocks, and profession-crafted items all feed into it. FFXIV players know what's up. ## The Mythic+ Rotation Blizzard is going with a split pool again for Midnight Season 1. Four brand new dungeons, plus four returning fan favorites: New Dungeons: - The Underhold - Quel'Thalas Sanctum - Void Breach - Shadowmoon Mines Returning Dungeons: - Siege of Boralus (BFA) - The Necrotic Wake (Shadowlands) - Uldaman: Legacy of Tyr (Dragonflight) - Halls of Infusion (Dragonflight) Siege of Boralus coming back is going to make some tanks very happy and others absolutely miserable. You know who you are. ## Shadowmoon Citadel Raid The first raid of Midnight opens alongside Season 1 with Normal and Heroic difficulties. Mythic and the final wing of LFR unlock the following week. Eight bosses total. Blizzard is being pretty tight-lipped about mechanics, but dataminers have already found references to a "void corruption" mechanic that spreads between players. Sounds like another "stack then spread" situation, which, yeah, classic Blizzard. The tier sets look incredible though. Especially the Warlock set. Actually unfair how good cloth classes eat this expansion. ## Gear and Item Levels Here's what you're looking at for Season 1 gear: - Hero track: 259-269 (M+6-7 drops, M+2-5 vault) - Myth track: 272-289 (M+10+ vault, Mythic raid) - Mythic raid drops: 272 base - Great Vault cap: 272 from M+10 or higher Champion track tops out at 256, so if you're pushing into Hero and Myth gear, you'll need to be running at least M+6 or Heroic raid. The jump is real. ## Void Threads Progression The big addition is Void Threads, a new progression system tied to the seasonal story. Think of it like Dragonflight's Renown but actually relevant to endgame. You'll earn Void Essence from M+, raid, and PvP that unlocks gear upgrades and cosmetics. ## PvP Reset New season means fresh MMR, new Elite set, and a new Gladiator mount. The Midnight Gladiator mount is a void-touched hawkstrider, and honestly it goes hard. Conquest gear starts at 246 (Champion) and scales to 289 in instanced PvP. Rated Solo Shuffle is back with some tuning changes. Healers rejoice: dampening kicks in 10% slower now. Check out the full Season 1 countdown and details to track the launch.

Blizzard just shadow-dropped the first Diablo 2 Resurrected expansion in 25 years. Reign of the Warlock is available now for $25 on Battle.net, Steam, and console. It brings the Warlock class, built-in loot filters, and a new uber boss fight. The expansion launches alongside Season 13 on February 21st, making it the perfect time to start fresh. ## The Warlock Class The Warlock is a dark scholar who spent years studying forbidden magic. Three skill trees to build around: - Chaos — Debuffs and curse damage that scales with enemy health - Eldritch — Ranged dark magic spells and area attacks - Demon — Summon demons and transform into demonic forms If you've been running Hammerdin or Blizzard Sorc for two decades, this is your excuse to try something new. Early Warlock builds are already being theorycrafted on Reddit. ## Quality of Life Updates The QoL updates might matter more than the class for longtime players. Loot filters are finally built into the game. No more third-party tools or watching items flash on the ground during Chaos runs. Stackable stash tabs for gems and runes are in too. Anyone who's been managing mules for years knows how big this is. The Chronicle is a new system that tracks every unique and set item you've found across all characters. Basically a built-in Holy Grail tracker that shows where and when you found each piece. ## Endgame Content - Colossal Ancients — New uber fight that scales with party size. Solo players can finally participate. - Terror Zone updates — New density options and the ability to choose which zones to run - Sunder Charm rework — Less mandatory for endgame builds, more of a choice --- ## New Items Over 30 new items are coming with this expansion, including new uniques, runewords, and class-specific gear for the Warlock. - 8 new runewords designed for mid-game progression and endgame builds - Warlock-specific items including orbs, tomes, and demonic fetishes - New unique charms with build-defining stats - Set items that synergize with the new Terror Zone mechanics Blizzard also added new base item types across all classes, giving more options for crafting and runeword builds. --- The expansion hits alongside Season 13 on February 21st. Fresh ladder, new class, better systems. D2R is also now available on Steam for the first time. If you've been waiting for a reason to come back, Blizzard just gave you several.

MMO Servers is where you find out what's launching and when. We track official servers, private servers, fresh starts, and seasonal content for MMOs, ARPGs, survival games, and more. Stop digging through Reddit and Discord — just check here.
MMORPGs like World of Warcraft and Final Fantasy XIV, ARPGs like Path of Exile and Diablo 4, survival games like Rust and Valheim, battle royales, extraction shooters like Tarkov — basically, if it has servers or seasons, we're on it.
A fresh start is any opportunity to begin a new gaming experience on equal footing with other players. This includes new server launches, seasonal resets, league starts, ladder resets, and expansion launches. Fresh starts are popular because they let everyone compete from the beginning without established players having an advantage.
Official servers are run by the game's publisher and feature the standard game experience. Private servers are community-run alternatives uploaded by our users — they often feature custom rates, modified content, or let you play classic versions of games. Our private server section is community-powered, with players submitting and discovering servers together.
Absolutely! Our private server section is built on community contributions. Use our submission form to add your server listing with details like launch date, rates, and features. All submissions are reviewed for quality before being published. It's a great way to get visibility for your server and help players find their next home.
